It has been QUITE some time since I’ve last blogged so I just wanted to hop on here and share a few images from a recent session with a most lovely mother to be.   I absolutely loved this session for so many reasons.  I love the different locations.  I love the clothing.  I love the lighting.  I love that it consisted of both mom and dad.  All of that AND these two are just fun to hang out with, period.

I first met Casey and Colin through my friend Emily Hudspeth that is a fabulous local hairstylist and airbrush makeup artist.  She actually did Casey’s hair and makeup for this shoot which is just another reason she looked so gorgeous that day.  Definitely be sure to check out Emily’s site and her blog as she does a lot of fun video tutorials!

These are just a few I pulled quickly….I may be sharing more soon.

i have been fortunate to be a part of this family’s lives for many, many momentous occasions.  i first met lexi during her engagement shoot…it was an amazing, fun and wild engagement shoot.  in fact, it was quite possibly the craziest shoot i’ve ever done as there was no shortage of wild events including bee stings, hail and one of them (i won’t say who!) falling in the water.  since that time, i have shot her wedding, her first maternity session, another family session and now her second maternity session.  i truly feel blessed to be such a constant part of so many amazing times in their lives.;-)

as i was editing these images from her maternity shoot, i realized also, that there was a definite constant with her sessions….the majority of them revolve around the water.   and rocks.  and nature.  and well, that’s quite appropriate for her since she IS a soil scientist and all.;-)

while driving to this shoot i started to get very worried about both the lighting and weather situation.   just minutes before we were set to begin, what was once a sunny and gorgeous (but super hot day) turned into something completely opposite…dark clouds quickly moved in and i was certain a crazy storm was brewing.  thankfully though, the clouds passed and moved on just as quickly as they had come in.  what resulted was actually an amazing display of some of the most gorgeous lighting i’ve seen.

many thanks to the crazy talented makeup artist khalood for continually amazing me with her artistry.  and tons of thanks to the fabulous model mary morgan.  you guys were awesome.;-)

last week i posted a quick image from a recent session here.  as i continued to edit the session, i knew there was NO way i could only share just one…i absolutely fell in love with this session.  mom contacted me because her daughter was turning 13 and she wanted to document this age and special time in her life as she entered her teen years.  after corresponding back and forth we decided to do a mix of downtown/urban paired with a more romantic/nature inspired session.  i adore the results.;-)  while we only had a good 15 or so minutes at the last location due to a crazy thunderstorm that LITERALLY came out of nowhere, it just so happened to be all the time we needed.
