blush…

I am so excited to announce that my good friend Marta Locklear (www.martalocklear.com) and I are teaming up together to form what is…”Blush Boudoir”. Marta has done such an incredible job of building her portfolio, brand, etc. and has asked me to join her in this exciting venture. I am so incredibly excited as it’s quite obvious, she’s simply amazing at what she does. Together, we are hoping that everyone will not only be educated on the beauty of boudoir photography, but also grow to appreciate the art.

To take an excerpt from Marta’s blog (as I couldn’t say it better myself) “Boudoir means ‘bedroom’, not trashy, not porn, etc.” It is tasteful and classy, but yet sensual at the same time. It is for YOU…

Sessions with us are completely laid back….like hanging with the girls. While the setting is very relaxed, we also aim to have a great time with plenty of laughs. These sessions should not be looked at as intimidating at all. Trust me.;-)

If you are interested in setting up a session, please contact either Marta (540.760.1008) or myself (804.310.8027) for more information. And stay tuned for the launch of the blush… website! It’s coming soon! Until then, please view the video below to give you an idea of what to expect from blush…

American Family Fitness’ Hot Mamas!

If you live in the Richmond area, you’ve no doubt heard of American Family Fitness Centers (www.amfamfit.com).  They have seven locations from the Southside even as far North as Fredericksburg….several of which boast brand new facilities and state of the art fitness equipment.  Well, I had the absolute pleasure of working with them on the relaunch of their “Hot Mamas” campaign.  We did several photo shoots for the revamping of the brochures and the posters, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

The Hot Mamas program is 12 week fitness program for “new moms and moms to be” according to their brochures.  Ladies work with their own personal trainers to help them not only maintain but even achieve certain fitness goals while expecting and after delivering.  As you can see from the images below I worked closely with several of the participants.  Every single one had nothing but excellent things to say about the program.  They absolutely loved it!  So please, if you know someone who is expecting…pass the word along.;-)

I want to give a HUGE thanks to my wonderful friend Marta (www.martalocklear.com) that helped me out sooo much while I was up in Fredericksburg doing a few of the shoots!  You were a Godsend!!! ;-)

Be sure to look out for the posters at your location!  Here are just a few that are out there:

Beautiful Mama.

It’s no secret that it has been QUITE some time since my last blog post.  In my defense, let me just say it hasn’t necessarily been by choice.  For some crazy reason I decided it was a good idea to install the latest wordpress update.  I mean, after all…updates are good right?  They are BETTER versions of current running versions.  Well….it was not a good idea.  Not at all.  I ended up locking myself out of my entire blog….for quite some time.  I had absolutely no access to it at all.  I could not write, post comments…nothing.  Lesson learned for sure.  Since I’m so ridiculously technically challenged when it comes to this stuff I will from now on leave things like that alone.  As I said earlier this evening while at Tisha’s (www.tishamccuiston.com), it worked fine before….why did I feel the need to install an update???  And as Tisha said, “Yep…if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”.  Wiser words were never spoken.  Well, it definitely helps to have great friends first of all….but friends that understand this foreign language I like to call “code”, well that’s even better.  Tisha’s husband Daryl (www.defiantcreative.com) was able to go in and fix my crazy situation I had going on.  I cannot thank him enough.  And I’m pretty sure I owe him lots of lavish things in repayment for his services.;-)

Now…moving on to the beautiful mama I recently photographed…how gorgeous is she?  Not only does she look sooooo amazing, she is incredibly fun.;-)  I thoroughly enjoyed our time together.  Check out the pics below from our recent session.;-)

Until next time….well, provided I don’t get locked out again!;-)

Ridiculously adorable!

Alright, seriously….could this little guy BE any cuter?  And yes, that is, without a doubt a rhetorical question.   I mean just look at him!  There is so much sweetness wrapped up in one little package.  When I walked into his six month session, of course I noticed how cute he was…but I was not prepared for those eyes!  Wow.   He has the most amazing blue eyes.  And yeah, in the photography world, some photographers have been known to really photoshop eyes to make them stand out.  Well I don’t and I didn’t.  These eyes are amazing all on their own and certainly needed no help from me.  And just so ya know, this little cutie doesn’t just have looks either. He has the sweetest personality and the best little temperament.  Just check out the images below…I bet you’ll find yourself smiling just like I do when I look at them.;-)

There is a lot of fun stuff happening around here at Tiffani Sunshine Photography!  Many changes are being made for 2009.  That’s right….you guys have asked for it, so now it’s time to launch the digital collections.  I’ve also been working so hard on the wedding website, so be looking for that soon!  I can’t wait for you guys to see it.  It’s definitely a labor of love…no pun intended.;-)

Until next time!!!

Nikki and Post Wedding Bridals ;-)

So I’m sure all of you guys remember Nikki from our engagement session we did in downtown Richmond, right?  If not, here’s the link: http://www.tiffanisunshinephotography.com/blog/2008/08/03/less-than-one-week/ .  And then of course, there was her beautiful wedding on the beach that was featured here:  http://www.tiffanisunshinephotography.com/blog/2008/09/09/one-month-anniversary/ .  Well guess what….she’s back again!  And this time we had a blast doing a bridal session AFTER her wedding day.  That’s right, after.  About a month after her wedding, we scheduled a date to go out and take pictures of her in her dress.   We did it this way so that she could be completely relaxed, without fear of hurting her dress in any way prior to her wedding day.  In addition, we were able to go to so many different locations around town and just really do whatever we wanted, wherever we wanted…and that’s exactly what we did.  We hit up all kinds of spots…some that she had scoped out…some that I had.  And the result is a incredible variety of images that aren’t just your ordinary bridal portraits.  Love it…

You may also remember her husband is a firefighter.  I definitely wanted to be able to incorporate the fire station into these portraits in some way since after all, it IS a huge part of their lives.  Well, that AND it just so happens to be a super cool place to take pics.;-)  So check them all out…yeah, there’s a ton.  But what can I say…I couldn’t help myself.  A beautiful day.  Awesome locations.  And a gorgeous subject that doesn’t look at me like I’m crazy for asking her to stand in front of a closed and very gated wig shop for a bridal portrait.;-)  Awesome combo.

Lexi and Andy

So you guys remember my post a while back about the crazy engagement session in Emporia, VA where a bee flew up my pants and stung me?  Or where the couple being photographed fell in the water just a few minutes into it?  Or where we topped all the madness off with a crazy hail storm?  If not, then please refer to this post ( http://www.tiffanisunshinephotography.com/blog/2008/07/08/if-i-didnt-know-better/) to fill you in on the absolute chaos that accompanied our engagement session.  It was an adventure for sure, but well worth it because we got some amazing images that day!  Well, let me tell you, their wedding day couldn’t have been any more opposite of the engagement session.  The day was GORGEOUS, the bride was incredibly stunning, the groom was handsome as ever and the location of the reception could not be any more perfect.  Everything went off without a hitch.  It was perfect.

Lexi spent A LOT of time planning out all of the details of the day and it showed.  The bouquets were amazing and vibrant.  The mustang they rode in to the reception was way cool.  The actual claw foot tub that held all of the beverages was such a creative touch.  And the table centerpieces that included different images from their engagement session were awesome!  She had all the details covered.

I’m not quite finished editing all of the images from the wedding yet, but Lexi asked for a sneak peek, so that’s what she will get.;-)  There are far too many to choose from, and I’m not very good at narrowing down so I think I’ll close my eyes and point to images to include in this post.;-)  Ok, well I’m kidding….but I did have a super difficult time deciding what images to post.  Hope you enjoy these!

Once again, many thanks to the very talented Tisha McCuiston (www.tishamccuiston.com) for being my guest photographer for the day!

The bridesmaid’s bouquets….

Lexi waiting to enter the church…

And I’ve seen this done before and have always wanted to try this….so fun.

I had fun playing with different treatmenst and textures on this one.;-)  And yes, that is the moon behind them.

And last one for now….this was the end of the night and there was this amazing fog that lined the field out by the reception.  While the fog doesn’t show up in the images, I still think these shots turned out amazing and am so glad we ventured over that way for some more fun.

Thanks so much Lexi and Andy!  You guys are so awesome and we had a blast at your wedding!
